The UW-Eau Claire Campus Safety Officer (CSO) Program serves as a resource to all students, faculty, staff and visitors of the campus community.  The CSO student employees will provide proactive, professional and personable services through safety awareness and security.  

The CSO program also strives to assist students in their education by giving them an opportunity to work within a police department and gain valuable knowledge that will help them in their careers after college.  

Goals of the Campus Safety Officer Program

The goal of the CSO program is to promote safety and security on campus by being a visible presence to deter illegal activity and recognize suspicious activity.  They will patrol campus by foot and vehicle and provide the staffing for the SafeRide and SafeWalk safety program.

CSO Core Values

C- Community Safety Awareness: CSO will patrol with high visibility and be aware of all needs of the diverse UW-Eau Claire campus community.

S - Service Orientated: CSO will perform their duties in a friendly and positive manner.  CSO is committed to helping others to assure a safe environment on campus.  

O - Observant: CSO will be alert and attentive while on patrol.  CSO will communicate with the appropriate officials regarding any safety concerns.  CSO are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment.

You can send your current resume and contact information to police@jnkjdc.com. You may also drop off your resume at the UW-Eau Claire Police Department, located in Crest Wellness Center, 630 Hilltop Circle, room 119, Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Qualified applicants are then selected for an interview and must submit to a background investigation. Training is provided on proper use of equipment, campus boundaries and duties to be performed.
